Plan your day out at Mushrif National Park

If you have exhausted visiting all the tourist attractions that Dubai has to offer and are wondering what else is left, you have missed an important outdoor spot. Children love to go outdoors than spend time indoors. And if that outdoor happens to be a place with its fresh air and natural beauty, you are in for some great time.

The Mushrif National Park in Dubai is one such outdoor place located near Al Khawaneej Road and Uptown Mirdif. The park is one of the oldest in Dubai and covers a sprawling area of 5.25 sq. km.

One of the main attractions of the Park is its Bird Sanctuary. Conserve your energy since you may need to walk for 2-3 hours. Located on a natural Ghaff Woodland, the park lends its natural and scenic beauty to many species of birds. Close to 102 species of exotic birds are recorded to have been spotted at the park. If you are interested in being in the park until dark, you can spot the Pallid Scops Owl. The Owl is a regular visitor to the park and starts being active once dusk sets in. Few more of the bird species that are sure to vow visitors are the Arabian Babbler, Grey Francolin, White-Cheeked Bulbul, Yellow-Throated Sparrows, Colourful Robins and much more. Seasonal European species such as the Redstart, Sylvia, Orphean Warblers, Little Swift, Flycatcher can also be spotted at the park. The more carnivorous bird species such as the Sparrowhawks, Spotted Eagles, Marsh Harrier, Pallids and others pay a regular visit to the park too.

If it’s a park, it doesn’t have to be the birds and animals alone. One visit to the National Park will transport visitors to a global village. The park amazes visitors with several traditional houses from Thailand, German hausbam, toadstool house and many more countries around the world.

The National Park is a great choice for a relaxed and fun-filled picnic and barbecue. The serene environment with tall green tree shadings can give anyone a relaxing feeling. The kids can even get their cycles to ride around the park and have fun. Did you know the park also has amazing camel rides for the kids? The Park is open 8am-10pm, Sun-Wed and 8am-11pm, Thu-Sat.
